Are you a Michigan farmer?

Would you like to inform the long term vision of this project by serving on a committee that meets monthly? Participation is voluntary, not compensated.

Are you located in Washtenaw, Lenawee, Monroe, or Wayne Counties? Considered small, diverse, underserved, and/or under resourced? Would you like to participate in on-farm trials and monitoring of climate smart farm practices? Participation is compensated through stipend and potentially cost-share.

Are you a Michigan food industry leader?

We’re looking for individuals who work within the local food industry to participate in a market research study related to how a climate smart verification system might impact the value of Michigan-produced items, and how we can effectively market climate smart verified farms and products. Ideal participants work in one of the following fields: Grocery, Farmers Markets, Local Food Retail, Food Hubs, Distribution, and Butcher. They also serve as key decision-makers, buyers, or owners, sell a wide variety of Michigan-farmed products, are actively involved in the marketing of those products, and are willing to share details about their role, farmer partners, and end retail customers. Participation involves one hour-long Zoom meeting with a researcher and a small group of other participants. Participating individuals will be given $150 for their time. Conversations will be recorded and transcribed, however, farm and interviewee identities can be withheld by the interviewer/researcher, by request.
